mAKING BLOOD...
Our group participated in a blood making workshop. Fake blood allows us to create gory horror scenes and create the illusion of real blood, making it more realistic. Once we made the fake blood we came to the conclusion that some was better than others, this was down to the different constancy and how the fake blood looked. We made the decision that coffee blood was the best fake blood for our horror sequence, for this we used:
Other blood which was made by other groups included;
We decided that the coffee and chocolate blood was the best to be spat out this is because they both had a thick enough constancy to make it look realistic, however the chocolate fake blood tasted a lot nicer than the coffee blood, so would be able to be held in your mouth for a longer period of time.
The washing up liquid blood would be the best if you need large quantities of blood, as it doesn't need a lot of ingredients and is quick and easy to make, all it involves is washing up liquid and red food colouring. However the only disadvantage to the washing up liquid blood is you cannot use it in water as it will troth up and loose the blood effect look.
The Icing sugar blood was not very effective as it was very thick and heavy. It didn't run down clothes easily and stained clothes. Therefore we will not be using it in our horror.
Overall, we came to the decision that the coffee blood was the most effective as it had the right colour to it and also the right constancy. It also looked realistic when spitting it out. As our blood was made from coffee it was edible the only disadvantage being how it didn't taste very nice. The coffee blood was thin allowing it to easily run down clothes, while also being easy to wash out of clothes.
