How does your sequence use/develop/challenge form and convention of real media products?
When we were creating our OTS is was vital that we made sure that we incorporated themes of our inspirations in it. Our opening title sequence is baed on the slasher genre. There are three inspirations that we used for our OTS.
inspiration one
Unfriended was a main part of our OTS. We used a themes from Unfriended that were social media based. We used a social media element in our OTS by adding popping images of the victim that we retrieved off of Face book. This is also used in unfriended when the characters are going through the images of a party they went to via Facebook. The photo montage in this clip is very simular to our photo montage because it shows how the characer is now seen as a victim and not just a Facebook 'friend'.

inspiration two
Stalker was also a huge part of our OTS inspiration. We used this idea because we wanted to have a classic horror convention where there is no sense of identity. We have also used the element of lighting in our OTS from Stalker because it helps set a scene of danger and insecurity. This also helps to make the victim look more vulnerable because she has no authority to protect her and because she is being stalked by an unknown man in the middle of the night.

Scream was also a big inspiration because we needed idea on how to kill the victim. After watching lots of different killer scenes, we thought that Scream was the best kiling to fit the genre of the film. We used the style of knife and the amount of blood to ensure that the scene of the murder looked as real as possible just like scream did. This way we were able to make sure that one of the best inspiration scenes were used.
