Why is casting important?
Casting is important because you need to make sure you have the right person playing the right role. Casting is also important because if you don't have the right person playing the right role then it could affect how your film is, it could make it look unprofessional, and could make the experience director look inexperienced.
what kind of actor should be cast for what kind of role?
Someone that looks sweet and innocent should play the role of a victim, this is because it will make the audience have sympathy for this character, as they could be vulnerable. However you cant have someone that looks sweet and innocent play the role of a killer this is because it wouldn't create a tense and eery atmosphere.
On the other hand if you want someone to play a killer, stereotypically you would have a male that is stronger and more over powering. You wouldn't usually have a female that plays a killer because women are usually the weaker gender and less powerful because men can intimidate them.
However some women can play powerful roles as long as they look right. For example if you had a woman who was pale and powerful looking then she would be able to play a vampire.

Our casting choices...
We chose Cameron Diaz as an Elle look-a-like because we felt they both had very similar features. We also felt that Elle plays a similar role to Cameron Diaz as she mainly plays main characters, and Elle is also our main character in the film. Elle has an ability to make herself look like an innocent person, she can also do this because she has blonde hair, representing that she is the vulnerable and weak character.
We chose Nick to play Adam Sandler as they come across as two funny people, but this actually contradicts Nicks character as he turns out to be the killer. So this enable Nick to look innocent and friendly yet he's dangerous and frightening. We felt that the two people had similar features for examples there hair colour and head shape, also the have a slightly similar smile.
We chose Francesca as Ashley Benson, because Ashley Benson plays an average girl in pretty little liars, and Francesca also plays a normal teenage girl in our opening title sequence. We also chose Francesca as Ashley Benson because they both have blonde/brown hair. They also have blue eyes, similar smile and the same face structure. Francesca's character also comes across as a spiteful girl, however she looks like a honest and safe person to be around.
We chose Lily as Angelina Jolie, because she has the same similar face features, also they both look weak and responsible, where as in our opening title sequence lily plays someone who is horrible and over powering. This would make our audience feel like they don't actually know who Lily's character actually is. We also felt that Lily best suited Angeline Jolie because they have the same facial features for example their eyes are the same and there eyebrow and also they have the same face and lip shape.
