What is a storyboard?
A storyboard is a sequence of pictures either drawn or made to show what shots and angles are planned for a scene. Dialogue and directions are part of a storyboard too, they make it easier to understand how the scene is going to be planned out and what it is that is happening in it, it included notes so it reminds you of what may be said in that scene.
WHy do film producers make storyboards?
Film producers make storyboards because it is a useful plan to follow. It allows them to remind themselves on what it is that they're filming, and as a storyboard includes notes and important information in the description it's a plan and guide for a film producer to follow. A storyboard also helps create imagery in peoples head, to help them imagine what that scene will look like and it will plan out. Another reason why film producers use storyboards is because it's easier to express your ideas visually rather than verbally, as it's clearer.
What do storyboards normally look like?
Storyboards are normally laid out by have multiple boxes and then smaller boxes underneath - enough room to right all the information which is needed. The bigger boxes need to be big enough to fit a detailed box in, so you can remember what its about and ca also use it as a filming guide.
Our storyboard...
We are going to make a storyboard like this example, as it is a clear structure.
We are going to include, information about what it is that is going on in the scene and the camera angles so its a guide for when we record the scenes, we'll include clear images which demonstrates what it is that will be happening in the scene. By including all this information it allows us to use the starboard as a guide for when we are filming, making sure every detail is right.

Success criteria for our storyboard
We want our storyboard to include the following:
- Enough detail to be able to use it as a filming guide.
- The right camera angles.
- Detailed pictures, so we can vision what the scene is going to look like in our heads.
